E3 2012: Microsoft has revealed Xbox SmartGlass, which lets you use your Windows 8 device as a second screen for any content played on your Xbox 360. This gives you minute-by-minute information about a movie or scene, and you will be able to watch content from your tablet to your big screen with a simple gesture.
You will be also to use simple flicks, gestures and pinch and zoom to control your Xbox 360. As well, thanks to SmartGlass, it also allows added functionality with its recently-announced internet browser. Based on Internet Explorer, a SmartGlass connected device acts as some sort of touch pad mouse for the Xbox 360, meaning you can twist and turn on 3D objects.
This will be multiplatform – meaning that it will be on Windows 8 PCs and devices, but also on your iPad, iPhone or Android device.
It will be out in the second half of the year.
