Vodafone lets you to "Roam Like Home", caps roaming charges in NZ, USA and UK to just $5 a day

Vodafone Logo Vodafone may have just earned itself a lot more customers. The telco has announced its new international roaming plans that would let you use your existing call, text and data inclusions in the USA, UK and New Zealand for just $5 a day. Put simply, that 1GB data cap you have already on a Vodafone plan can also be used while you’re abroad.

Vodafone Australia will be leveraging the telcos under the Vodafone Group, who own 50% of Vodafone Australia’s parent company VHA. The Vodafone Group already has a presence in 30 countries – including owning a minority stake in Verizon Wireless. That said, according to Gizmodo’s Luke Hopewell, Vodafone Autralia’s partner in the US is AT&T.

“Our customers tell us global roaming pricing is confusing, so we want to take the worry out of taking their phone with them when they travel overseas,” said Vodafone Australia’s chief executive Bill Morrow.

“Global roaming costs are a worldwide issue because of the prices various networks charge each other but the impact on our customers is too great.”

However, you will have to wait unfortunately. These will only be available for those on Vodafone’s new plans – which are coming in August.
