Nokia have announced several partnerships at their Mobile World Congress keynote. These partnerships will see official apps coming exclusively to Lumia devices. The most notable app coming to Windows Phone is Tumblr. According to Nokia’s Press Release, the app will be available for all Windows Phone devices (not just Nokia ones) upon release. The app will include exclusive features such as voice command integration and a live tile to display the newest posts from your dashboard.
The press release also has information about a few other apps including a GoPro app which will allow you to connect your GoPro HERO2 or HERO3 camera to your phone. The app can show a live preview and then capture videos or take photos, access and change the camera settings and much more.
“Delivering top-flight image quality is at the heart of everything GoPro does,”
said Justin Wilkenfeld, Senior Director of Lifestyle Marketing, GoPro.”The combination of Nokia’s best-in-class camera technologies and the Windows Phone 8 platform allows our consumers to do more with their HERO3 and HERO2 cameras. That’s one of the reasons we’re committed to offering new features to our Windows Phone 8 app.”
The Foursquare app will also be updated to support NFC for “content sharing, friend requests, and check-ins” and will integrate with Nokia Maps for a “seamless experience”. Nokia will also be releasing an Lumia-exclusive Foursquare app with an augmented reality camera viewfinder. Additionally, Burton will be releasing an app which allows you to combine multiple action shots into a single photo.
The Foursquare app will be the first to be released with the other apps being released after that.
