Apple has set a release date for the second Tom Hanks film. Finch is a futuristic story about an isolated inventor, his canine and robotic road buddies, and it's coming to us on Apple TV+ November 5th. Like Hanks' war movie Greyhound, the film was delayed several times before Apple finally got sick of waiting and bought it from Universal. Caleb Landry Jones plays the robot, fresh from a Cannes best actor win.
Hanks portrays the title character, a robotics engineer suffering from illness who escapes his underground exile and travels across the great American wasteland. This is no usual family, along with Goodyear the dog and "Jeff", an android. This combination sounds like a very entertaining time for us!
Apple must be confident in the film's chances of winning some kind of award by releasing it on November 11. Either it's confident in the film's awards chances, or it may just be looking to add another major movie to its fall lineup, which already features big names like Foundation, The Morning Show, and The Problem with Jon Stewart.
