A couple of days ago, I received a phone call from a PR agency asking us to do a story about some Facebook bot that one of their clients created. They saw the last updated piece on our site was in January, and called me to ask one simple question.
“Is the site dead?”
The simple answer was no, the site is not dead. We decided to take a little break from writing to focus more on our other commitments. For example, Stewart is starting up a new hackathon series with some awesome folks.
Personally, I decided to take a break for the last couple of months to adjust to some changes in my life – like getting a new job as a software engineer. But I’m back and ready to start writing again.
I also needed a break because I couldn’t handle the stress of running TechGeek over the past year or so. There was too much pressure from everyone, and trying to maintain everything – on top of running UNIHACK, finishing my course, completing a software engineering project, and becoming a tutor for a unit on campus – was just exhausting. I would often stay up late with little sleep to finish all of these tasks.
So I’m back – we are all are back. We might not be covering the stories that everyone else covers, but we cover the stories that matter – to us, at least.
Oh, and by the way Samsung, I’m still waiting for the Galaxy S6 review unit from a year ago.
