Telstra, ZTE "EasyTouch" phone is going global

Telstra and ZTE are again partnering up to bring the “EasyTouch 4G” phone to the world. For those who don’t know, the phone is to make the transition between their standard mobile phone to a smartphone much easier. And it will make it even easier with a customised UI that was co-produced together.

The “EasyTouch 4G” is essentially a rebadged T82 (it’s global name) and will be marketed across the world. The T82 has a 4.3-inch QHD touchscreen with an 8-megapxixel camera with LED flash, 4GB of internal memory that is also expandable with a microSD card and runs Android – which one is still unknown (probably Ice Cream Sandwich, could be Jelly Bean). We also don’t know the processor, or how much RAM it has; but we do know it has up to 300 hours of battery standby time when connected on a 3G network.

The biggest selling point, however, is the user interface. It has four big widgets for phone, internet, media and settings, which can be removed once the person is more familiar with the smartphone. It will also show unread emails, texts and call notifications on the lock screen.

The EasyTouch 4G is already out in Australia, with no international availability and pricing. It is available outright in Australia for AU$456.
