Even though it’s only been a few months since our last major update, the TechGeek WIndows Phone App has hit Version 2.0. After the design change on the website, our application suffered greatly since it relied on many of the components of the old design. As a result, the app has been completely rewritten from the ground up. Now using a much faster API, the speed to loading articles has dramatically increased.
This update addresses some major issues with the previous versions and updates the design the match the major design change here on the website. Unfortunately, some features have been removed while they are redesigned. This includes the category pivots and text size changing but they’ll be coming back in later versions.
Some other changes include:
- Better article support – Articles now look better than ever and clicking on links within an article will load within the app.
- You can now scrub podcasts – Easily skip to a different time or quickly skip back if you missed something
The app is available to download right now from the Windows Phone Store. Currently only for WP8 users (WP7 will be coming soon!). Suggestions/Comments/Criticisms? Let us know! Tweet us@techgeekcomau, email us or use the feedback page in the app.
