Sony has finally announced the local availability and pricing of its upcoming flagship device range, the Xperia Z5 series. The range will include the Xperia Z5, the Xperia Z5 Compact, and the Xperia Z5 Premium – which is being touted as the “world’s first 4K smartphone”.
According to Sony, the Xperia Z5 and Xperia Z5 Compact will be available from next week, with a recommended retail price of $999 for the Z5 and $849 for the Z5 Compact. You will be able to get the Z5 on a plan with all three major carriers – Optus (Black only), Telstra (Black, White and Green) and Vodafone (White only). However, the Z5 Compact is a Telstra exclusive and only in Black, White and “Coral” (or red).
The Xperia Z5 Premium has no launch date, but the phone will be priced at $1,199 and will be available from JB Hi-Fi, Dick Smith or the Sony Store.
