The VIAO Fit laptops have been out in America since May; but Sony Australia has confirmed that the notebooks will indeed come to Australia in this month. The VAIO Fit line of notebooks, running Windows 8, are designed to have ultra-premium features at an entry-level price tag.
Well, that’s according to the American press release.
The VAIO Fit and Fit E both have a 15-inch display that is capable of supporting 1080p resolution (there is a 14-inch model, but Sony Australia is not bringing it here). Of course, being a Windows 8 laptop, the screen is also a touch screen. In addition, hardware specs include a third-generation Intel processor, up to 1TB of storage and up to 8GB or RAM. Only the VAIO Fit has the option to replace the hard drive with a solid state drive of up to 512GB.
Battery life is just under four hours, and both have the standard Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connection options. The laptops also feature NFC technology – which could mean that you can easily pair your phone to the laptop without the hassle of setting up Bluetooth. There are two USB 3.0 ports (and up to two USB 2.0 ports – depends on the model) and HDMI output.
The Fit E starts from $999, while the Fit starts from $1499. They can be purchased from Harvey Norman, JB Hi-Fi and directly from Sony.
