Sony Australia has announced two new tablets that integrate Windows 8 and a touchscreen – with the two big highlights being an 11-inch Duo 11 tablet and the the 20-inch Tap 20, which combines the all-in-one PC with form factor of the tablet.
The Tap 20 has an adjustable stand to be positioned in a comfortable position; while the Duo 11 is an Ultrabook hybrid that has a slide-out keyboard. Both will be running Windows 8 and it appears both will run the latest generation of the Intel Core processors. The Duo 11 also includes Bluetooth, USB.30, HDMI output and an ethernet port; and both the Tap and Duo feature NFC.
Also announced by Sony were three new VAIO PCs – the T Series 13, the E Series 14 and the L series. The T Series features a 13.3-inch touchscreen with an SSD and an Intel Core processor; while the E Series features a 14-inch touchscreen display. The L Series, however, features a 24-inch touchscreen display and has “Front Surround 3D” that promises to fill the room with audio via its 2.1 channel speakers. Selected models also include 3D technology.
But will it stand up with the Surface? We’ll see. These will be available in Australia by the end of October. Images for the Duo 11 and Tap 20 can be found below:
