Shovel Knight finally hits the 3DS and Wii U eShop

It’s been around 133 days since a game about a blue knight was released in the US (but who’s counting right), and today it’s finally our turn to buy it.

Because if you can only buy one indie game this year, make sure it’s Shovel Knight, a colourful, retro-in-a-good-way action platformer with tight controls, a killer soundtrack, and what can only be described as a beautiful art-style. Seriously, in a world which seemingly is stuffed to the brim with pixel-art “retro” indie-games, this one stands out in a massive way as one of, if not the, best games of 2014.

Also, if you buy the 3DS or Wii U version before the end of 2014, but want to play it on the opposite device, you can pick up the opposite copy with a 33% discount.

Seriously, buy this game. It’s out now for 3DS, Wii U, and also Steam. The world will still be here when you get back.
