Shazam has today pushed an update to its Windows Phone app that has a brand new user interface, faster tagging, a new lockscreen background, new live tiles, and – most importantly – better support for Windows Phone 8 users.
The app features unlimited tagging and local tagging – meaning that you can see other tagging activity from your location. Though, while the feature is similar to the iOS app update rolled out last week, it is not the same as iOS users can move around to see neighboring locations and WP8 users are restricted to just their location. There is also a new home screen pin that lets you tag directly without opening the app; and you can set their favourite cover art or tag charts as the phone’s lock screen background.
In addition, there is integration with Xbox Music and Nokia Music in order for you to purchase (or stream) the song; however, interestingly, there isn’t any integration with Spotify and Rdio (both of which have Windows Phone apps as well).
Of course, like the mobile apps on Android and iOS – you also social sharing on Facebook and Twitter, music reviews and lyrics; and will also incorporate a second-screen experience in order to interact with television shows and ads.
You can download the app from the Windows Store.
