Rumour Mill : Is iTunes getting subscriptions?

MacRumors and other Apple blogs are reporting that a tipster has said that there will be a $129-a-year iTunes subscription that would go hand-in-hand with the MobileMe service.

The new service will offer unlimited access to half of the iTunes store for $129 a year, or $179 for a combo deal with subscriptions with iTunes and MobileMe – in the US only; and if you you have a MobileMe subscription, you just need to fork out $99.99 for the iTunes deal.

But is an unlimited access plan a good thing for iTunes? It works for eMusic, but maybe not for the iTunes store.
