Sony’s digital-only PSP, the PSP Go!, has today “completed” it’s production and shipment in Japan. Sony will still offer repairs, support and firmware updates for the PSP Go, but the console will soon be unavailable to buy.
The PSP Go! had no UMD drive, instead offering inbuilt storage for downloadable games. And for that reason some retailers, including EB Games, didn’t stock the device. It was more expensive and wasn’t backwards compatible with physical PSP games. But it was still quite revolutionary.
The cheaper PSP-3000 is still available and being produced, for now at least.
But remember. The NGP is coming to one territory this Christmas, so you might want to wait just a little longer.
