Red vs Blue, Tech News Today big winners in web video awards

The inaugural International Academy of Web Television Awards – essentially the Emmys for web content – announced its first ever winners at a gala event at CES; with Red vs Blue and TWiT’s Tech News Today scoring awards.

Tech News Today won Best News Web Series, while Microsoft-supported The Guild and Red vs Blue won Best Comedy and Best Animated Web Series. In addition, The Guild won Best Writing (Comedy), Best Directing, Best Website Design and Best Female Performance for Felicia Day.

The Guild won the most awards with 4 wins, with The Mercury Men, RCVR and Dragon Age: Redemption – the latter two produced by Machinima.com – won three awards.

Blip.tv won the Best Distribution Platform award, beating Sony’s Crackle, DailyMotion, Hulu and Joost. You can watch the full webcast and all the winners below.
