Razer, known for making excellent, high-performance game hardware, has released details of a new gaming keypad before CES starts up. Called the Razer Orbweaver, the keypad is said to feature tournament-grade controls, ergonomics and customisability – especially given that it has 20 fully programmable keys, meaning that any of your favourite commands and macros can be performed with a press of one button.
Razer is also touting its “Mechanical Key infrastructure”, with each key giving you a light tap and click once pressed. Each key also has an activation force of 50g – allowing for fast gameplay. The Orbweaver also features an eight-way directional thumbpad (which is also programmable), and an adjustable hand, thumb and palm-rest.
It also supports Synapse 2.0 – Razer’s cloud service for storing your game settings and add-ons. So, if you have a previous Razer keypad, then you don’t have to go through the reconfiguring process.
The gamepad is priced at US$129.99, and is available from Razer’s website now. It will hit international retailers in Q1 this year.
