After teasing out the dates for Windows 8, Microsoft has confirmed via the Windows Blog that the upcoming version of Windows will be coming out on October 26. On that date, customers will be able to get a copy of Windows 8 via a new PC or from upgrading their existing computers. So expect a flurry of laptop announcements saying that they are Windows 8-ready, and Windows 8 tablets between now and October.
However, we don’t know when the highly-anticipated Surface tablet will come out – but that could come out in November if Microsoft wants to get this product out during the holiday shopping season. We also don’t know if this comes out worldwide – but I so wish it was.
