In what might be an interesting move, Nokia has today announced that it will produce a tablet. Called the Lumia 2520, the Windows RT-powered tablet is designed to be light and comfortable with its unibody design. It also comes with LTE, a Snapdragon 800 CPU and a bright 10.1-inch screen with Gorilla Glass 2. Nokia has decided to include 4G LTE as standard as well.

The Lumia 2520 brings all the best things about Nokia’s smartphones to a tablet. The 10.1-inch screen is a full 1080p IPS display with a 1920 x 1080 resolution – very awesome for a tablet. The screen also has a 180 degree viewing angle which means the screen looks fantastic from all angles. The tablet features a 6.7 megapixel camera with a Carl Zeiss lens and will have Nokia Camera pre-installed on it for taking great pictures.

Stephen Elop, Nokia’s CEO said that the edges of the device are thinned to make it light and easy to hold. The 2520 will weight at just 615 grams meaning it won’t be too heavy to hold in the hand.

Of course, Nokia will include Nokia Music for unlimited streaming of ad free music, HERE Maps for navigating around, Microsoft Office for Windows RT built in and heaps more. The 2520 has a 8000 mAh battery and Nokia claims you should get around 11 hours of battery life out of it on a single charge.

The tablet will be available in Black, White, Red and Cyan. Nokia have also introduced a keyboard for the device. The Power Keyboard has a full QWERTY keyboard and touchpad with two USB ports on the side and a built in battery. With both the inbuilt battery and Power Keyboard, it’s expected that the 2520 will get around 16 hours of total battery life.
