Nokia’s two new Windows Phone devices have been confirmed. The Lumia 720 features similar to the sister phone Lumia 920 – including the high-end camera and wireless charging – despite being priced at a lower range. The Lumia 520, on the other hand, is now its most affordable WP8 smartphone. Despite that, it also features a similar camera with the Lumia 920.

The Lumia 720’s body looks like the Lumia 820, except it is slightly slimmer at 9mm. Hardware specs include a ClearBlack 4.3-inch WVGA display protected with Gorilla Glass, a Snapdragon S4 processor and 512MB of RAM. It has 8GB of storage that is expandable with a microSD card up to 64GB. Other features include a 6.7MP rear cameras and a wide-angle 1.3MP front facing camera; Wireless charging; and NFC support. Connectivity-wise, however, it does not support LTE.

The phone will include Nokia’s HERE Maps, and its camera enhancements such as Smart Shoot – which lets you stitch multiple photos to create a better photo – and Cinemagraph.

The Lumia 520 is now the cheapest phone with a price tag of EUR139 (or AUD$179); and like the Lumia 620, has a removable shell. Hardware specs include a 4-inch IPS display, a dual-core 1GHz Snapdragon S4 processor, 512MB of RAM, and 8GB of storage with a microSD card slot. The 520 also includes a 5MP rear camera with the additional extras like Smart Shoot and Cinemagraph.

The phone, however, does not support LTE, NFC or wireless charging – likely due to its price point. And like other Lumia devices, it has access to all the Nokia apps.

The Lumia 720 will come to Hong Kong, Vietnam and Singapore in Q1 this year for a price tag is EUR249, before moving into key markets in China, Europe, India, Asia and Africa. The Lumia 520 will also launch at the same time in the same countries (except for Singapore). It will roll out in other markets in Q2.
