The Indians and the Russians are about to be the first few countries to get the new Nokia 808 PureView, with the mobile manufacturer confirming that it will be rolling out the 41-megapixel cameraphone in May in ‘selected markets’.
Other markets have not been revealed, but having growing markets such as India and Russia as part of its initial launch could hint at launching it first in those markets to test the waters of a launch in more developed mobile markets such as Australia, Europe and North America.
For those who don’t know, the Nokia 808 PureView has a 41-megapixel lens that can take pictures at 38 megapixel resolution, while also able to take it in smaller resolutions including 5 and 8 megapixels. It claims that it can take pictures – at 5 and 8 megapixel resolution – without the loss of clarity when zooming, and have sharper images.
It also runs on Symbian – but hopefully, it runs a bit better than the other phones we had that were running on it.
