Nintendo has announced that it will be holding the Pokemon Video Game Australian National Championship at this year’s PAX Australia on July 20 and July 21. And the winner gets a free trip to Vancouver, Canada to compete in the global championship held in early August.
Competitors will be battling it out on Pokemon Black and White Version 2. The championship will be split in three divisions: Junior (born in 2002 or later), Senior (1998 – 2001) and Masters (1997 or earlier). The top two from each division will get a free flight, accommodation and invite to Pokemon Video Game World Championship in Vancouver.
Given that PAX Australia has sold out, Nintendo will also over competitors a chance to win flights, accommodation and tickets to PAX Australia in a number of Pokemon meetups in held around the country:
- Perth (Supanova Pop Culture Expo) Sunday 30th June
- Melbourne (Deakin Edge – Federation Square) Saturday 6th July
- Brisbane (Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre) Sunday 7th July
