Nintendo Australia has confirmed that the Wii U will be selling in Australia and New Zealand on the same date as the Europeans – November 30 – and several games that will launch at the same time as the console, including Call of Duty: Black Ops II, Mass Effect 3 – Special Edition ZombieU and RAAYMAN LEGENDS.
Among other release day titles that will be out on launch day or by March 2013 include 007 Legends, TRANSFORMERS PRIME, Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two, New Super Mario Bros. U, LEGO City: Undercover, Assassin’s Creed III, and Batman: Arkham City Armoured Edition.
The Basic Pack – the white Wii U with 8GB of storage and a GamePad – will be priced at $349.95. The Premium Pack – the black model with 32GB of storage and a GamePad and cradles and a sensor bar – will set you back $429.95. And yes, all the Wii accessories that you collected all those years will work with the Wii U and will create a Wii Remote Plus Additional Set that will contain a Remote Plus controller, Nunchuk and sensor bar.
In comparison, the American pricing is US$300 for the Basic Pack, and US$350 for the Premium. In Japan, the Basic Pack is 26,250 yen (or AU$322.20) and the Premium Pack will set you back 31,500 yen (or AU$386.65). European pricing has not been revealed yet, but we’re expecting to be somewhere along the Japanese prices.
Still, it goes to show we’re still paying more for things.
