Today, TECMO KOEI announced that their upcoming game Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge will be ported to the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Previously, the game was a Nintendo Wii U exclusive; and made headlines as the first Australian R18+ game.
Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge is an enchanted version of Team Ninja’s older game, Ninja Gaiden 3; and will include a “redesigned battle system, improved enemy AI, the greatly reduced interactive QTE (Quick Time Event) scenes, and the return of dismemberment.” Additionally, the game will include three new female playable characters (Kasumi, Ayane, and Momiji), new stages, additional ‘Ninja Trial’ missions, and new iconic weapons, such as the Lunar Staff and Kusari-gama.
Alongside the main campaign, a side-story focusing on Ayane will be available; while the other characters will be playable in the new ‘Chapter Challenge mode’ and ‘Ninja Trials co-op play’. In ‘Chapter Challenge’ mode, players will compete for the highest score possible in every campaign chapter. Another challenge added – ‘Tests of Valor’ will place players fighting against familiar bosses from the Ninja Gaiden series, providing players are able to locate the hidden Crystal Skulls.
The online features has been greatly improved, allowing five new clan battle stages, and eight-man support. Players are able to customizes their ‘Unknown Ninja’ for online play through the ‘Ninja Skills upgrade system’ and ‘Karma’; while having access to all of Ryu Hayabusa’s weapons and ‘Ninpo’ for Clan Battles.
Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge is schedule to be release on April 4, 2013 for the Nintendo Wii U, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360.
