Earlier today, Microsoft and Network Ten will launch a video on-demand application via Xbox Live in Australia on July 10, joining ABC iView and SBS On Demand on the platform.
Via the upcoming app, Xbox Live Gold subscribers will be able to watch popular TEN, ELEVEN and ONE shows such as Offspring, The Graham Norton Show, Bondi Vet, Bondi Rescue and The Living Room without missing a moment. At least it would be (hopefully) better than using the actual website. Additionally, it will be constantly updated with latest breaking news from TEN News At Five and TEN Late News.
“We are delighted to be the first Australian commercial free-to-air network to join forces with Xbox to provide its consumers with new entertainment, comedy, reality and news content,” Rebekah Horne, Ten’s Chief Digital Officer, said.
“This is the first product release in Ten’s TV ‘anywhere’ strategy. Our goal is to deliver a TV experience anywhere that consumers are engaging with video content. Ten’s TV anywhere strategy will be realised over time by a number of product releases across different platforms and devices.”
The Network Ten app will support Kinect gestures, being able to recognize over 120 voice commands and various hand gestures, allowing for easy navigation.
