Motorola’s resurgence has seen the company take a step forward with their phones, partially thanks to their adoption of Google Android. And now, they have taken it to the next level with their new addition to their phone line, announced today at CES – the Motorola ATRIX 4G.
The smartphone will feature a dual-core Tegra processor with 1GB of RAM – allowing it have “effortless” multitasking support – and a 4.0-inch touchscreen. The screen is also of notable importance as it will be the first to have the qHD screen.
The phone will also have up to 48GB of storage – 16GB internal, and up to 32GB of expandable memory via a microSD card – and support for Wi-Fi and, hence its name, the 4G network. It will also have a front-facing and rear-facing cameras, and can record HD video; two microphones for noise-reduction technology; and a biometric fingerprint reader.
And with all of those features – the phone can still be under 11mm thin.
The phone will run Android 2.2, and come included is a full version of Firefox 3.6 browser – the first time that phone has appeared on an Android phone in its full state (it has appeared before on Nokia’s Maemo phones). And developers, it will be able to support HTML5 sites.
The phone will be on the AT&T network in the United States. International availability has not been confirmed by Motorola.
