Here’s what we are watching:
- New MacBook Pro rumours have emerged. 9to5Mac is claiming a new thinner design, could lose the optical drive, support for USBO 3 and have a Retina Display. Bloomberg is also claiming thinner MacBooks and they are being said to run on “more powerful chips” from Intel – Ivy Bridge – but that’s expected.
- An anonymous source has told the Wall Street Journal that Scott Thompson had been recently diagnosed with thyroid cancer – and the decision to step down as influenced by the revelations. Thompson is alleged to have said that he wanted this kept private.
- Buffalo has announced its first 802.11ac wireless router and media bridge that is now available to the public. It is compatible with 802.11n devices as well. However, it should be noted while it allows speeds of 1.3Gbps (theoretically), it’s not been ratified yet and no device is using it as of yet.
- Apparently the new redesigned Facebook apps have taken some inspiration from Instagram.
