Announced this morning by Microsoft Australia’s Managing Director, Pip Marlow, Sydney will play host to the first Microsoft Store in the Asia Pacific region. This will be the first brick and mortar store for Microsoft outside of the United States. The store will be located inside the Westfield Shopping Center on Pitt St Mall and provide the opportunity for users to experience the best of the Microsoft products available like the Surface range, XBOX, Windows Phones and more.

Additionally, the store will also have an “Answer Desk” which is a “one-stop shop for questions, troubleshooting, repairs and support for all Microsoft software and hardware.” – so think Genius Bar but by Microsoft. Due to the diverse range of Microsoft products and software – these guys will need to be pretty knowledgeable since almost any question could be thrown at them.

Currently no information has been shared on when the store will be officially opened other than “later this year” but we’ll keep you up to date. You can read more at the Microsoft News site.
