Following the announcement at the recent Nintendo Direct, Nintendo Australia has announced the latest installment to the Mario Kart series, Mario Kart 8 will launch on May 31 in Australia and New Zealand. Similarly to other games in the series, Mario Kart 8 will featured many beloved characters from the Super Mario franchise racing each other for a podium finish and the illustrious trophy. Already featuring a plethora of drivable vehicles, such as motorbikes and hang-gliders; Mario Kart 8 will also feature anti-gravity vehicles for the first time – enabling for thrilling gravity-defying races and action.
Also announced during the Nintendo Direct, the Koopalings: Iggy, Larry, Ludwig von, Morton, Roy and Wendy will enter the track as playable characters for the first time. The Koopalings are well-known as Bowser’s minions, appearance in many Super Mario games – such as Super Mario Bros. 3 and New Super Mario Bros. U.
