Lenovo has announced that a brand new tablet – the Idea Tab S2. A 10-inch tablet and running on a custom skin (as you can tell from the image), everyone else will have to wait as China gets its now – a big gamble and could possibly a mistake in the crowded field of tablets.
The S2 weighs only 1.1lbs and runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8960 dual core CPU and on the latest version of Android – version 4.0, also known as Ice Cream Sandwich. However, while we’ve seen it on phones (okay, one phone), the tablet version will be an interesting experience.
Also announced was a S2 smartphone that runs on Android 2.3, and claims to be secure with “kernal-level” security to protect personal data. It will also include an 8-megapixel camera and is “ready for the cloud” with syncing of files to a dedicated online storage place. As well, this will be available now in China, and with everyone else waiting.

The IdeaTab S2 tablet, S2 smartphone and K91 smart TV are available immediately in China. Lenovo will be releasing these products worldwide at a later date.
