Kobo has a brand new, “limited edition” eInk eReader joining its already lengthy list of readers available in the public. Dubbed the Aura HD, it will hit Australian stores in June and features a high-resolution, 265dpi 6.8-inch touchscreen display.
Internal specs include a 1GHz processor and 4GB of storage with a microSD card slot; with a battery life (based on 30 minutes of reading per day) of at least a month. Features include its “TypeGenius”, allowing you to set the size and font that is most comfortable for you; and support for Adobe DRM and EPUB file formats.
The Aura HD also includes Kobo’s social reading additions, including “Reading Life” where it records your reading stats and lets you tell the world your favourite passages and books; and Kobo Everywhere, meaning that you can read a book from your iPhone and then pick up where you left off from the Aura.
It has a recommended retail price of $219, and comes in Ivory, Espresso and Onyx – or, in simple terms: black, white and brown.
