A report by Bloomberg has indicated that Apple will launch iTunes Radio in the UK, Canada, Australia and New Zealand in early 2014 – citing anonymous sources within the company.
While Pandora already is available in Australia and New Zealand, it is not available in the UK and Canada – and it appears that it won’t arrive any time soon. Apple is leveraging its international licences with the global record labels in order to have a faster rollout; whereas Pandora relies on rights granted by legislation and government entities.
However, with an oversaturated market already – with iHeartRadio, Spotify, Rdio and Pandora – could iTunes Radio find some footing in the market?
