Huawei is making a fitness thingy too, despite joining an increasingly crowded market. The Chinese electronics manufacturer has announced at Mobile World Congress the TalkBand B1. And like its rivals, you can track your fitness regime – like steps taken and calories burned – and be notified of incoming calls.
The device includes a 1.4-inch flexible OLED display, supports NFC synching, and has a battery life of six days without the need to recharge (according to Huawei). It should support all mobile devices on Android 2.3 or later, and iOS devices running iOS 5 or above. The TalkBand B1 should also be durable during your run – being made from hypo-allergenic, sweat-resistant and anti-UV material.
It comes in a variety of colours, and should be available in China from March with a price tag of EUR 99 (or AUD$151.72). It then launches in Japan, the Middle East, Russia, and Western Europe sometime in Q2; but there is no word on Australian availability or pricing.
