The HTC One‘s release date is reportedly being pushed back to April after reports of manufacturing delays – which is really, really bad for the company given rival Samsung is about to announce details of the much-rumoured Galaxy S IV on Friday.
Talking to CNET, HTC representatives said that a formal rollout to stores has now been pushed back to April, instead of the March date they said. The handset maker has also confirmed that preorders will be fulfilled by the end of this month, however.
No reason for the delay has been given by HTC’s representatives talking to CNET, though there are some speculation that it could be due to the metal unibody frame. However, Android Authority – citing a Taiwanese news source – last week reported that the Ultrapixel camera was the reason to blame.
HTC’s only hope now is that the Galaxy S IV somewhat disappoints so that the HTC One isn’t overshadowed by it.
