Microsoft and 343 Industries have announced Halo 5: Guardians as the next title in the Halo Reclaimer Saga, with a Fall 2015 release, exclusively on the Xbox One. Finally! some news on the next-gen Halo, and although the title and release period are the main announcements, it’s exciting to see 343’s direction for Halo. 343 General Manager Bonnie Ross writes:
It’s a game that will hopefully demonstrate the talent, learnings and abilities of the 343 Industries team. A game that will incorporate the things we learned from “Halo 4” about technology, aesthetics, performance and scale – and perhaps more importantly, understanding and embracing a community of gamers who love what lies at the heart of this game, and the limitless potential of the “Halo” universe.
Halo 5: Guardians will continue the story of Master Chief and although not much information was shared on the game, we will definitely get more news at E3 in June. Bonnie also writes “Your Journey Begins in 2014″ hinting at another Halo game for this year, most signs point to Halo 2 Anniversary. I’m personally excited for Halo 5, and the capabilities of the Xbox One, alongside the ambitious and passionate attitude of 343. The wait for Halo 5 will be unbearable but until then we have the Halo Tv series to look forward to as well.
I spoke about a “journey,” rather than a destination – and that journey definitely begins in 2014 with a giant leap, rather than one small step.
