Halo 2's servers are shutting down once more

Halo 2 LogoIn the most recent The Halo Bulletin, 343 Industries has tearfully announced their plans to shut down Halo 2 PC Multiplayer servers next month, February 15. 343 Industries said that the game has been “peaking consistently at approximately 20 players or less” and it was time for them to retire the over five-year online services.

However, on the brighter side, 343 Industries said that this change will not affect Multiplayer over LAN – allowing players to continue the multiplayer experience with friends.

Previously, Microsoft had retired the Halo 2 Xbox servers in April 2010 due to similar inactivity.
