Sony has today also announced that the PlayStation-branded 24″ 3DTV, announced for the US at E3 2011, will be coming to Australia “later this year”.
One of the highlights feature-wise is SimulView. This allows two players to have full-screen multiplayer games, removing the need to split the screen. It’s quite interesting technology, although unfortunately Sony has patented it, meaning the idea probably won’t become common in any other brands of TV’s. PlayStation 3 games will need to be patched to support the feature, so hopefully updates come thick-and-fast.
Sony hasn’t disclosed a specific release date, but we know that it will retail for $699.95 and comes with two 3D shutter glasses. Are you interested? Let us know in the comments.
