EA to announce more titles for Wii U "this summer"

What potentially killed the Wii was the lack of third-party support for some of the major titles – Mass Effect 3, Skyrim and Assassin’s Creed are just some of the games that were made for other platforms, but not for the Wii. Well, for EA at least, that’s about to change with someone in the company hinting at a couple of new titles to be announced “this summer” (or, in our case, sometime in this Winter)

Talking to CVG, EA Labels’ Frank Gibeau said, “We’ve got a couple of more games in development for Wii U and we’ll have a bigger line-up for Wii U than we did on the Wii. It is the first next-generation platform coming out so we’re really supporting it.”

“Just looking at E3 and where we’re at, we wanted to hold our fire a little bit on a couple of the other games that we’re working on. We’ll have more announcements this summer on the rest of the Wii U line-up.”

And for the Mass Effect 3 port coming to the Wii U – albeit months later than its rivals – the game is said not to be a basic port from one console to another. It will, like Batman Arkham City, will do something new and will use the second screen on the Wii U.

“We’ll do some new, unique things with it on the Wii U controller and the second screen that we’re innovating on,” Gibeau said.
