E3 2016: ReCore characters introduced and new gameplay

At the Xbox E3 2016 briefing, we got our first look at ReCore gameplay. One of the most refreshing trailers shown last year, we finally get introduced to the characters you’ll be seeing in the game. The game is being developed by Armature Studio alongside Keiji Inafune and his team at Comcept.

The game takes place in the dangerous world of Far Eden, where we play as Joule Adams, one of the last remaining humans and a ‘fearless leader’ who leads a group of ‘Corebot’ companions. Armed with a laser rifle, and a grappling hook, you adventure alongside your robotic friends including Mack, a dog-like Corebot, Seth, a spider-like Corebot, and Duncan, a gorilla-like Corebot.

Each of these robotic companions help Joule in combat and traversal. For example, Duncan is a hard-hitter and can cause devastating damage towards enemies, whereas Joule can use her grappling hook along with Seth’s wall-climbing ability to get around the map. The game includes a lot of action, puzzles and platforming, letting you collect and customise five Corebot frames.

The game launches this September 13th this year, available on the Xbox One and Windows 10. ReCore supports cross-buy and cross-saves between the Xbox One and Windows 10 versions.
