Following the success of Forza Horizon and Forza Horizon 2, Microsoft announced during their E3 Briefing that Forza Horizon 3 will be for the Xbox One and Windows 10. However, unlike the previous games, which were set in USA and Europe; this time the festival will be set in Australia.
Seen in the announcement trailer, the Horizon Festival will take place in various locations around Australia, encapsulating the beauty of the country. The game will feature key Australian beaches, coastlines, suburban cites, jungles, deserts, and more importantly – the famous roads. During the gameplay demonstration during the briefing, the Yarra Valley and the Great Ocean Road were featured as possible roads and landmarks players could traverse. Additionally, due to Australia’s unique terrain, the game will feature new cars to tackle the Australian Outback, adding to the already extensive list of cars featured in the Forza Motorsports series.
New to the series, Forza Horizon 3 will feature a co-operative campaign, allowing up to four players to help one another in any of the many racing events the game has to offer. Once joined, all players are synced up to the host game, meaning that the weather, time of day and Drivatars, or ghost drivers will be the same for all players. During the demo, it seems that the transition between jumping from your game to another game was seamless as there wasn’t any sign of loading screens.
As part of Microsoft’s Xbox Play Anywhere, Forza Horizon 3 will feature cross-platform multiplayer between Xbox One and Windows 10, and will be available September 27th.
