Sony showed off the very first gameplay video of Mortal Kombat X during their E3 Briefing today, revealing new fighters, dynamic gameplay with the new stage interactions, with X-rays and fatalities of course!
Announced only a few days before E3, Mortal Kombat X will be the 10th installment in the franchise and plans to make the gameplay more dynamic and cinematic with interactable stages and objects, also introducing character variants, letting you choose different versions of the same character. Each variant having a change in appearance as well as gameplay style and move-set.
One of the new characters looks to be a green lady with wings, who uses her extra limbs to impale opponents, and utilizes bugs in her moveset. Whereas the other looks to be a duo, a hulking brute with a little deadly sidekick riding on his shoulders (Think Gargantuar from PvZ). There was also another fighter in the trailer which could be Hotaru, Havok, or a completely new character.
The trailer shows off the movesets of Scorpion and SubZero’s main variant, with Scorpion having a projectile and spear throw, and Subzero being able to throw his own ice clone. The X-rays and fatalities look really gruesome, which makes me worried about it being censored in Australia.
Mortal Kombat X will release on the Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and PC in 2015.
