Batman Arkham City is coming to the Wii U – months after the release of the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. However, while this edition has the same story as the original game, this Armored Edition sees Batman in a new upgraded battle suit, and also takes full advantage of the Wii U’s new gameplay mechanics and its new GamePad’s second screen.
The GamePad becomes the Batcomputer, where players can select their gadgets, track evidence, upgrade gear and detonate bombs; and all the gadgets have been reconfigured to use the new controller and even have a preferred gadget layout. It will also offer a real-time map of Gotham without leaving the game.
You can see it in the trailer, below.
The Armored Edition will also include the previous DLC content already available in the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions – Harley Quinn’s Revenge Pack, Catwoman Pack, Nightwing Bundle Pack, Robin Bundle Pack, Challenge Map Pack and the Arkham City Skins Pack.
The game is set to be released sometime in the 2012 Holiday Season – and potentially appears to be a launch title for the console. Gallery below.
