Dell has announced two brand new laptops for “growing businesses” – the Vostro 3360 and the Vostro 3560 – with Dell touting its strong performance, business-critical security, and affordable price. The Vostro 3360 is a 13-inch laptop with a thin 0.76-inch design, while the Vostro 3560 is a 15-inch laptop.
The laptops feature a second-generation (Sandy Bridge) Core i3 processors at the very low end of the configurations, with choices to upgrade to a 3rd-generation (Ivy Bridge) Core i5 or Core i7 processor. It includes integrated graphics – Intel HD 3000 for the Core i3, HD 4000 for the Core i5 and Core i7 processors. Those buying the Vostro 3560 can upgrade the graphics to an AMD Radion HD 7670M DDR3 1GB graphics card.
The Vostro 3360 comes with 320GB of storage as standard – upgradeable to 500GB; while the Vostro 3560 comes with a 500GB hard drive that is upgradeable to 750GB. Both can be configured up to 8GB of RAM.
Other extras include a fingerprint reader, HD webcam with digital dual array microphone, 15-months subscription with Trend Micro’s anti-virus, and a number of connectors including HDMI, USB 3.0, and a card reader.
Prices start at $699 for the Vostro 3360 and $799 for the Vostro 3560. If we ignore the Sandy Bridge processors (while they are cheaper, the Ivy Bridge ones are faster), then the starting pricetag are $899 for the Vostro 3360 and $999 for the Vostro 3560.
