Well, Dell has had its press conference today and its main focus was mobile. And its new product announcements reflect this – and the first one on the table is its new smartphone, the Venue. And we hope it does better than its other smartphone.
The specs, however, look promising. Running on a 1GHz processor and on Android 2.2 (but not 2.3, Dell has had a history of using older versions of Android), it also has an 8-megapixel camera and a high-contrast 4.1-inch AMOLED display that is protected with Gorrila Glass.
It will be running its own skinned version of Android, known as Stage. Dell is touting this as perfect for entertainment, with streaming radio stations and downloading books and music. It will also come with access to the Android Market, so you can add more options.
The company has not released availability or pricing. The press release segment is below, after the jump.
