Motorola has brought out a new touchscreen phone, being described as a “new, intuitive, customizable and vibrant touch tablet” with 3G support. Called the MOTOSURF A3100, its home page is just a restyled front-page being overlaid on top of Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional.

It will also support HSDPA, HSUPA and Wi-Fi, along with it being a quad-band phone. It only weights 119 grams, and has a 2.8” touch screen. It also has Microsoft Exchange support, along with SMS and MMS; a 3 megapixel camera with a secondary VGA camera; 256MB of flash memory and is expandable with a microSD card; and has GPS navigation.

It also supports, in multimedia terms: AMR, MP3, AAC, AAC+, eAAC+, WMA and MIDI for audio; and MPEG-4, H.263, H.264 and WMV video playback; along with H.263 capture support and .3GP and .MP4 playback support.

Expect this phone to be released in many regions, including Asia and Latin America, in Q1 2009. No US carrier has picked up this phone (yet).
