Canon goes sporty with new waterproof PowerShot D20 digital camera

Canon has announced a brand new sporty digital camera. Called the PowerShot D20 digital camera, it is being touted as a sturdy camera for extreme sports or for trekking outdoors. Canon claims that this camera is waterproof, shock proof and freeze proof – and can easily switch to different modes at ease even with gloves.

Because, that’s a big feature that everyone wants.

The camera features a 12.1-megapixel lens with a 5x optical zoom and can record in 1080p full HD. It also includes a 3.0-inch LCD screen, GPS capabilities for geotagging, and includes wind reduction technology to capture audio even in breezy conditions.

Canon is touting a May 2012 shipping date with a price tag of US$349.99. No word on Australian availability.
