Canon has announced three new cameras to join its PowerShot line of compact cameras – the ELPH 130IS, the A2600 and A1400 – promising simplicity. All three include Wi-Fi connectivity, meaning that you can share your photos on social networking platforms, send them to your PC or to your iOS or Android device via its app.
The ELPH 130IS features an 8x optical zoom with a 28mm wide-angle lens and a 16-megapixel sensor. It also includes a 3-inch LCD screen and intelligent IS, so anyone can take great photos. And with a simple body, it is a great camera to put in your pocket and take those holiday snaps. It comes in red, grey and silver; and is priced at US$199.99. It will come out in February.
The PowerShot A2600 also features a 16-megapixel sensor and a 28mm wide-angle lens, but it offers 5x optical zoom. It also includes a 3-inch screen, and can record 720p HD video – all you need to do is press the dedicated button on the camera to record. Canon has also put in something called Smart AUTO, which will automatically choose the best setting out of 32 common scenarios (e.g. outdoor, beach, etc), and Digital IS to reduce shakiness. It comes in black, silver, red, blue and pink; and is priced at US$149.99. It also comes out in February.
The PowerShot A1400 is another camera with a 16-megapixel sensor, 28mm wide-angle lens and 5x optical zoom. The camera is targeted towards those who are travelling or who live in the outdoors, given that the camera is powered by two AA batteries as opposed to rechargeable Li-ion batteries. It can record video in HD, include Digital IS to reduce shakiness and comes with some creative effects like fisheye, toy camera and monochrome. It comes out in February for US$109.99.
