BlackBerry 7″ Tablet announced at Developer Conference

BlackBerry has just announced a 7″ tablet called the PlayBook at their 2010 BlackBerry Developer Conference. Engadget is reporting that the device has 1080p HDMI support, USB ports, 1GHz dual-core processors with symmetric multiprocessing, 1GB of RAM. and can be paired with the BlackBerry Torch.

They also showed that the BlackBerry Tablet OS has a browser with WebKit, HTML5 and Flash 10.1 with hardware-accelerated video, meaning it may be a big competitor to the iPad. They also showed an e-reader app, document viewing and editing and multitasking.

They also called it “the first professional tablet,” and there is a fancy video here.
