Armature Studios’s latest trailer titled “Under New Management” for their upcoming game Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate has revealed a very similar plot to that of 2009’s Batman: Arkham Asylum with a prison uprising at the notorious Gotham super prison.
The PS Vita and Nintendo 3DS sister game to be released on the same day as Batman: Arkham Origins by WB Games Montreal sets the stage months after the conclusion to Origins centering around a uprising at the infamous Blackgate prison home to petty thugs and criminal masterminds alike.
The trailer depicts the 2D style side-scrolling combat reminiscent of the Black Mask combat challenge featured in 2011’s Batman: Arkham City with some interesting camera changing perspectives to mix up the gameplay. This is also the first time Catwoman chronologically appears in the Arkhamverse detailing her first experiences with the Dark Knight. Batman also appears to be more of a household and respected name within the trailer as detailed by his cooperation with Jim Gordon with whom he was at odds in the recent Firefly trailer for Batman: Arkham Origins.
Both Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate and Batman: Arkham Origins will be dropping on October 25th this year.
