Another Australian company is at the CES show floor. Moos Audio, a company that does acoustic design and R&D work, have revealed their Mini Aero wireless loudspeakers. They promise to give you lossless, bit-accurate sound that exceed many high-end wired audio systems. Oh, and did we mention that they were recently made an honoree at the CES Innovations Award for High Performance Audio?
Moos Audio says that how they manage to accomplish this was through building their own audio technology called WATT – Wireless Audio Transport Technology – that they say can “achieve reliable transmission of 100% lossless, bit-accurate, high-resolution digital audio content at up to and including 24bit/96kHz.” They also say that they have found a way to mitigate wireless interference without affecting the bitstream.
The speakers are designed for the digital music revolution, suitable for playing CDs ripped to your PC or Mac, or digital downloads from stores and from the cloud. All you need to do is plug in the USB dongle to your PC and Mac, and you’re done. No wires means that you don’t have to go to the back of your computer and try not getting the cords tangled.
The Mini Aero will be available for shipping in late April and costs US$2,499 – they aren’t cheap. However, they are targeted for the diehard of audiophiles. They will be only available on their website, and preorders have started.
