ASUS reveals Padfone Infinity - 5-inch 1080p screen, quad-core chip, 13MP camera

ASUS has today announced at its MWC press conference the Padfone Infinity. The phone features a 5-inch display with 1080p resolution and a pixel density of 441ppi; a quad-core 1.7GHz Snapdragon 600 processor and a 13-megapxiel camera. Oh, and it runs Android.

ASUS says that the phone is made from an aerospace-grade aluminum alloy. It also claims that because their camera has a bigger aperture, giving it better performance in low-light conditions; and can take 100 shots at 8fps burst mode. They will also bundle their “SonicMaster” audio technology for better audio.

Other hardware specs include 2GB of RAM, 32GB or 64GB of storage, and will support LTE and NFC. Users will also get 50GB of cloud storage with its WebStorage service. Battery life is at 410hrs standby time when on 3G.

The phone comes with the Padfone Infinity Station, which is basically a tablet that expands your phone’s view from being a 5-inch screen to a 10.1-inch 1080p screen. All you have to do is simply place it behind the back of the Station, and you’re done. Well, that’s what I am assuming from the demo they are showing at the press conference. The tablet will also features a 13-megapixel camera.

The station also acts as a battery pack, extending the battery life of the phone three times – according to ASUS.

ASUS says it is priced at EUR999 and comes out in April.
